INEC COMMRNCES ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR VOTERS An online continuous voter registration exercise, where intending voters can register before they complete the process at a designated center, has been commenced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) The portal requires new voters to pre-register by filling out a form on the portal with their bio data and necessary documents after which they are expected to visit an INEC state or local government office. At the INEC office which they can visit from July 19, the new voters will be required to provide finger prints to complete the registration. Additionally the INEC portal, requires those who have registered in the past to review their voter registration status; and if need be request for replacement of damaged or defaced Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) on the portal. Other features of the portal, include the ability to update personal information or transfer voter registration to another pulling unit.
